Happy Canada Day!!!

First of all, to all my fellow Canadians out there...HAPPY CANADA DAY!! I know I am a couple of days late to blog this but I did put it on my Facebook status so you should have seen it there!! Not only was it Canada Day celebrations for Mia and I but July 1st also marks the anniversary of when I moved to Australia. It was 9 years ago now that I moved out to this country. I still can't believe it was that long ago. It is always with mixed emotions that I celebrate July 1st. It makes me homesick...it makes me proud to be Canadian...it makes me proud to be Australian...it makes me so many things. So to start the day off on a good foot I went to the gym and pounded the s**t out of myself and burned off 613 calories in my 1/2 hour workout at Curves. That made me feel much better and it was a great way to get out my frustration/homesickness. The rest of the day was a bit same old same old...I spent lots of time with Mia while David went to the block with his parents to mow the grass in the easement behind where our new house is being built. Then they all came back here for some food. For dinner...well it was my choice and even though it isn't really "Canadian" I felt like having Indian so Butter Chicken it was!! And boy was it yummmm!!! So to all my fellow Canucks..."God keep our land, glorious and free, O Canada we stand on guard for thee, O Canada we stand on guard for thee." and for the French Canadians like myself and my dad "Et ta valeur, de foi trempée, Protégera nos foyers et nos droits, Protégera nos foyers et nos droits." Here are Mia and I sporting our Canadian gear...

Next, onto the house. Progress is progress and it seems to be happening SO SLOWLY at the moment even though there is someone there working every day. They have put up all the doors, architraves, skirting and downpipes now and to be honest, I am not sure what happens next. Our floor/wall tiles for the bathrooms, toilets and laundry have been delivered so I assume that is next! Here is the latest progress...

I haven't done too much scrapbooking yet unfortunately! I have completed a couple of pages but I really want to try and get some more done.

One of the categories this month for Toddler Idol which I run through a group of moms that met on a website called What to Expect was "Then and Now" and we had to find a photo of our babies when they were born and one of them now to show the difference. Here is Mia's...

I can't believe how much my little girl has grown, as has my love for her!

I love watching your home being built! It already looks so neat, and I can't wait to see it done!
